In yogic philosophy, we call this Tapas – not the traditional dishes from my native land of Spain, sorry, but the discipline, determination, and dedication to practice consistently and cultivate positive daily habits.
It sounds simple enough, but it sure isn’t easy.
On the last free Wednesday stack, I shared with you that I have been struggling with creating a consistent evening routine that feels aligned and supports starting the next day grounded and productive.
I shared with you that for the last week or so, I have been exploring a few new habits to introduce into my evenings that replaced mindless scrolling and Netflix.
It has been challenging, yet quite rewarding; I have watched some TV now and again, and I have scrolled, too, but not as much.
I can also report that every night, no matter what, I have been spending 15 to 20 minutes reading a book (this is my current read if you’re interested), taking a few minutes to write a short to-do list for the next day, and taking a moment of gratitude in meditation.
Last night, while taking a few breaths before heading to bed, I wondered:
"How can I cultivate Tapas in my evening routine to commit to the things that truly matter to me and invest my time and energy wisely?"
