With no expectations...

Showing up and imperfectly moving forward

I left for Barcelona with my carry-on and my backpack at the beginning of December.

I had not been home since before the 2020 Global Apocalypse and although I love living in Florida (I love heat, what can I say…), it was time for me to get out.

It may seem like an oxymoron but it is easy for me to get lost when I am in the same place for too long…

I’ve spent the last month with family, reconnecting with friends, and I also had the opportunity to travel to The Netherlands, one of my favourite countries, to film new classes for EkhartYoga.

I came back to Europe with no expectations, just with the intention to pause and let myself get inspired.

It hasn’t been too difficult finding inspiration while roaming the streets of my city; I’ve had my fair share of croissants and cafe amb llet de civada (lattes with oat milk) for a while in the most picturesque coffee shops.

In every corner of the Gothic Quarter, I find a memory that had been buried by time and distance or a piece of architecture that sparks inspiration for an article, or for fictional dialogue.

I took the pressure off; I didn’t commit to any amount of writing in particular or word count per day, I just committed to pausing, taking a deep breath, and writing daily.

I have been writing articles, I have been working on my sci-fi novel, and unexpectedly began plotting a new fiction book, and I feel ready to reconnect with you all.

Although I have started a new IG account and I would love for you to join me there, I am shifting my focus to this platform, where algorithms matter a little less, and my words a lot more.

So, welcome to “The Pause”.
