The Saturday Pause: Lull of Summer ☀️

Snippets of inspiration to support you this weekend and into the new week

Hello hello,

Just popping into your inbox briefly today, to inspire you to drop in sometime this weekend, and pause.

It’s super hot in Barcelona, and everyone is just trying to find a coffee shop or a shady spot to chill and hide until the sun goes down; it’s the lull of Summer…

I’ve been finishing up the details of tomorrow’s class in Barcelona, as well as the details for the October yoga retreat in Morocco, while I have to start thinking about packing, and every time I find myself overheated and stressing out - which I first notice because my breath gets more shallow - I pause and give myself some space to come back to the present and cool down.

Here are a few of the things that are helping me realign lately as I cool off in small coffee shops like the one I’m writing from today:

• Music: here is the playlist I’ve been using recently to go for strolls around the city to gather inspiration for my upcoming novels. I use it as the soundtrack to my walking meditations.

• Podcast: On Purpose with Jay Shetty has been super encouraging for me as of late. The interviews are always fantastic, but what I love most is The Daily Jay, full of practical inspiration for everyday life:

• Healing: Recently, conversing with a friend about the nervous system, trauma, and ways to learn to work with and through our past experiences, I remembered one of my favourite books that speak of the subject:

  

• Lighter Reads: If you’re looking to disconnect a little and read some sci-fi and fantasy, here are my latest favourites, one in English, and one in Catalan
