A Morning Walk to Welcome the Season 🍂
First day of Autumn musings and journaling prompts to inspire you...
Greetings, dear friend, and Happy Equinox!
This weekend marks the moment when the plane of the Earth's equator passes through the center of the Sun, resulting in nearly equal lengths of day and night.
The term "equinox" is derived from the Latin words "aequus" (equal) and "nox" (night), emphasizing this balance.
This delicate equilibrium between light and dark is a moment of profound connection – not just with nature, but with ourselves and each other.
This morning - a gorgeous, cool Saturday morning, I must add - my friend picked me up a little bit after Sunrise and we drove 30 minutes north to take a two-hour nature walk in the forest.
Even here in Florida, where it is still hot as hell, it is apparent that the days are about to grow shorter… the air carries the unmistakable crispness of Autumn, and I find myself drawn to the enchanting magic of the equinox.
It's a time when nature gracefully dances between light and darkness, and we, too, can embrace this delicate balance in our lives.
It is in this time of seasonal transition that I invite you to delve into the art of journaling to capture the essence of this shifting energy.
If you’ve never journaled before, know that there is no right or wrong way to do it, it’s about releasing some of the mental chatter onto the page.
The equinox is seen as a moment of balance, when light and darkness, day and night, are in harmony.
Many people use the equinoxes as opportunities for reflection, setting intentions, and connecting with the cycles of nature, and journaling is a great tool to do just that.
Journaling to me is catharsis; it’s a raw emotional release. It can help you find mental clarity and harmony, and I highly invite you to give it a try, even if just once.
So, grab your favorite journal and pen and a cozy cup of tea, and let's welcome the equinox together.
