5 in 5 Yoga Challenge | Day 3: Pause
Take a break and recalibrate your energy – A 5-Minute Yoga Break for yourself
Hello sweet friend,
Welcome to Day 3 of the 5 in 5 Yoga Challenge. How is it going for you?
I'm so glad that you're here, whether you’ve kept up, you’ve skipped a day, or you‘re just getting started!
How was Day 2?
Did you find 5 minutes in your day to get on your mat, or at least pause and take a breath?
Day 3: Pause
It's time to take a break!
How often do you take time for yourself?
Whether it’s work, or caring for others or your home, do you find that sometimes you just keep going?
It can be very refreshing and nurturing to go on a week-long retreat and truly disconnect, or travel across the world, but I am all about simple tools you can introduce into your life with ease.
I know you know this, but it's essential to take moments to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with yourself every single day.
Many of us end up finding this out the hard way: when there is no ease in our lives, disease occurs.
I learned the importance of pausing and taking care of myself in my mid-twenties when I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease… I either stop and check in with myself daily, or things go to shit… quite literally. 💩
Benefits of Pausing with Yoga
Practicing yoga, even if just for five minutes, can have a positive impact on your life:
Stress Relief: Gentle movements and deep breathing help calm the nervous system and reduce stress.
Muscle Relaxation: Slow, mindful stretches release built-up tension in the body.
Mental Clarity: Taking a break to pause and breathe can clear your mind and improve focus.
Emotional Balance: Pausing allows you to reconnect with your emotions and find balance.
Keep in mind that the effects of yoga and meditation are cumulative, so practicing regularly matters.
Finding a yoga style and a length of time that works for you will help you sustain the practice, hence gaining more benefits from it.
Day 3 Movement Practice: 5 Minute Pause
Toda'y’s 5-minute movement practice is a quick relaxing yoga session for whenever you need a break to reset.
You include this short yoga session at the beginning, middle, or end of your day, and you could even do this class more than once a day when needing a small respite from it all.
I know it’s hard to set aside your responsibilities and to-do list, but I believe that taking care of yourself should also be a priority.
YOU MATTER.
